A hush fell over the 300,000 strong congregation. I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know how to meditate nor worship and didn't want to learn so I just sat there. A great feeling of peace did enter me, though. Questions flitted through my mind. What happened? Where did Ethane go? Was this an elaborate hoax? Did he really fuse or was he merely cremated in an overtly spectacular manner in order to perpetuate this myth of fusion?
Whether it was a hoax or not, it seemed these people believed it. The sincerity, warmth, openness, trust and love was evident in the ceremony. That didn't mean it was real but it said a lot that scientific equations couldn't attempt to express. Whatever skepticism my intellect dished out, my heart and soul was convinced. Something happened there that touched me deeply.
