Where are you on the chart? To whom goes your highest loyalty? To yourself? Your family? Your country? To God and all of God's children? Can you treat all others as God would treat them? God is not a respecter of persons, meaning he does not favor anyone over others. Do you treat all others equally, or do you favor your loved ones?
Naturally, being human, we favor our loved ones. Why? Because we know more about them. We interact with them daily. We communicate, share and bond with them.
So if we are to achieve cosmic consciousness, we must know more about others, interact with them, communicate, share and bond with them and the universe.
Everything non-spiritual in human experience, excepting personality, is a means to an end. Every true relationship of mortal man with other persons--human or divine--is an end in itself. And such fellowship with the personality of Deity is the eternal goal of universe ascension. P.1228 - §3
And to achieve such a true and lasting relationship with other persons, especially Deity, one must be trustworthy, that is, have attained self mastery.
"...Trust is the crucial test of will creatures. Trustworthiness is the true measure of self-mastery, character." P.315 - §6 4.
Self-mastery is the spirit conquering matter with mediation of your mind. So, in your mind, consciously allow your soul to decide. Partake of the food that your soul wants and exercise your soul often. Move from within, from the love that resides inside you. Enjoy contacting the indwelling divine spirit. Exercise your soul by acting on your spiritual truths. Make things happen! Create new ways of revealing God to your fellows. Serve.
"Strong characters are not derived from not doing wrong but rather from actually doing right. Unselfishness is the badge of human greatness. The highest levels of self-realization are attained by worship and service. The happy and effective person is motivated, not by fear of wrongdoing, but by love of right doing." P.1572 - §6
There's no pressure.
"But man is not saved or ennobled by pressure. Spirit growth springs from within the evolving soul. Pressure may deform the personality, but it never stimulates growth. " P.1135 - §1
Do your "inner work". It all starts with your decisions.
"Worship is the technique of looking to the One for the inspiration of service to the many. Worship is the yardstick which measures the extent of the soul's detachment from the material universe and its simultaneous and secure attachment to the spiritual realities of all creation. P.1616 - §8 "
Follow the leadings of the divine spark within, allow your soul to make decisions. The path to self-mastery and eternal life starts with you.
